Job Summary:


MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Foundry is a subgroup dedicated within the engineering organization focused on exploring new paradigm shift inventions within the Chesterton products space that can be prioritized for commercial and engineering execution under the leadership of the Chief Emeritus Engineer. The key goal for this subgroup shall be to generate a paradigm shift inventions that meet prototype performance criteria targets to formulate a set of ten MVP’s every six months for prioritization by the Engineered Products and Programs (EPPM) group and execution through the Key Design Reviews (kDR) process. Work closely with EPPM group to successfully introduce MVP's            




  • Responsible to assemble & present kickoff & closeout presentations on MVP projects to leadership. 
  • Reviews and approves all designs for market release.
  • Success adds to value of intellectual property of company. Conduct invention and product technological investigations.
  • Requires wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the engineering and manufacturing fields and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in choosing a particular course of action. Decides on issues of most complex technical issues especially those without precedent.
  • Ability to interact frequently with all levels of the organization and multiple external contacts and/or customers.


Complexity of Duties:


  • Manages projects that have direct impact on the profitability of the Company. Failure to achieve results can result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of Company resources.
  • Works under minimal supervision. Independently determines and develops approaches to projects and solutions.


Education and/or Experience:


  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
  • 10 years of relevant experience required (7+years minimum in sealing devices).

  • Engineering knowledge at the research level
  • Management ability
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Presentation skills (groups 250+); lecture as industry expert
  • Knowledge of patent law and procedures
  • Prototyping guru
  • Test setup/Machining setup
  • Solidworks experience
  • Prototyping articles for testing
  • CNC Machine/lathe
  • Ability to demonstrate at least one market proven invention
  • Ability to develop business plans
  • Ability to develop market test ready MVP (Min Viable Products)
