    JOB TITLE: General Manager (Chesterton Mexicana)

      

    Job Summary:

     

    A business development, sales and operational focused position to manage the Mexican operations at Chesterton Mexicana S.A. de C.V. reporting to the VP & MD for LATAM and in collaboration with Corporate Finance and Operations functions for operational functions such as accounting, AP, AR, cost controlling, treasury, engineering, manufacturing, facilities, materials, logistics, quality, global supply and customer service.  Responsible to lead all business development and selling activities of products and services through its local Sales Organization and direct offices in Mexico and in collaboration with the Regional and local support functions such as marketing and supports field sales efforts and programs, HR, IT and OEM Sales.  Has profit and loss responsibility and works with Corporate and local Finance organization to insure proper local and corporate reporting.  The General Manager will be responsible for the enforcement of corporate policies and procedures including ethics, code of conduct, fiduciary controls and contractual authorization.   Will be responsible for achieving corporate goals, overall Mexican profitability, and asset management.

     

    Responsibilities

    Responsiblities:

    • Manages and oversees the daily activities of the business’ operations, manufacturing and inside sales groups.
    • Achieve the Sales / Bookings budget for the business.
    • Lead the Sales functions and its personnel in strategic and tactical account planning to ensure sales and market share growth.
    • Maintains close-working relationships with Regional Sales & Marketing group to provide the product development, production, support and services required of the customers.
    • Interfaces with upper management on business issues and programs.
    • Directs short and long term staff and resource planning efforts.
    • Responsible for the yearly performance measures, A1’s, performance and compensation reviews, recruitment and hiring, and employee training and development.
    • Participates in the development of the annual budget for the business and insures that it is met.
    • Reviews and approves all contracts for Chesterton Mexicana to include employment, commercial relationships, and agent and supplier agreements.
    • Manages Human Resource issues with support from Regional HR to ensure integrity and legal obligations.
    • Review and approval of local issues requiring Mexican “power of attorney” including business contracts, collections and employment relationships.
    • Implementation and enforcement of, and compliance reporting related to, all Corporate Policies and Procedures, including all ethics and code of conduct policies.
    • Provides coaching and motivation to sales and operations personnel through participation in training programs, Sales meetings and key customer Sales calls.
    • Represents Company at customer, distributor, field sales meetings and events as well as industry groups.
    • Actively participates in, supports and drives the quality systems (CBEM and the BMS) as well as certifications (ISO 9000;2015 and ISO 14000) as required.
    Complexity of Duties:
    • Responsible for creating and developing a successful strategy for planning long term growth and profitability.
    • Responsible for creating and developing a successful tactical plan for budgeting and the execution of business programs and processes.
    • Sales, profit and asset management responsibility.
    • Accountable for providing solutions associated with the sales and marketing of the business’ products.
    • Responsible for sales results and maintaining representative relationships.
    • Must motivate business personnel through leadership and knowledge.
    • Previous performance must have demonstrated superior business, people, and organizational skills plus a strong work ethic.
    • Work is reviewed in terms of meeting sales, organizational, financial and operational objectives.
    • Accomplishes results through subordinate managers and other direct reports, and by maintaining close contact and collaboration with managers of the company in Groveland and Woburn (USA) and other operations the company operates around the world.
    • Manages a large, diverse group of people in various locations within the country.
    • Requires a working knowledge of financial and operational systems.

    Education and/or Experience: 

    • BA or BS degree required in a technical or business management related field required, and an MBA preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Sales, Operations and/or management
    • Training and experience in ISO standards for sales and operations 

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong ability to direct, manage and motivate resources within the business to meet established goals and objectives.
    • Strong knowledge of local governmental standards and requirements.
    • Ability to deal effectively with conflict resolution.
    • Technical and financial knowledge.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Understanding of computers and business systems.
