    Job Summary:


    Responsible for performing various functions associated with the repair and exchange of seal assemblies under the Chesterton Exchange/Repair programs. Sets up and operates simple machinery, including sandblasting machines, hand/power tools, and buffing machines. May perform simple quality control functions based on specific instructions.




    • Performs various exchange/repair/re-work assignments according to detailed work instructions and engineering standards. Must be capable of reading and understanding instructions.
    • Must be capable of following a clearly written and described sequence of events.
    • Sets up and operates simple machinery, i.e., sandblasting machines, buffing machines.
    • Operates various hand and power tools, i.e., drill presses.
    • Performs simple in-process quality control functions based on established engineering standards.
    • May perform re-work tasks with direction as required.

    Complexity of Duties:

    • Works with limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work. Detailed instructions needed for special assignments.
    • Demonstrates level of job knowledge required to perform routine rework tasks.
    • Must perform work according to written/verbal instructions and procedures which will ensure safety on the job and efficient effective exchange/repair/re-work processes.
    • Ability to work in an uncomfortable environment, ie, extreme heat and noise.
    • Ability to work under pressure and work well with others.

    • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written, verbal instructions and sequence of events.
    • Manual dexterity and the ability to operate simple machinery and power/hand tools.
    • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds on a regular basis.

    Education and/or Experience:


    • High School or Trade School preferred
    • 0-1 years experience in manufacturing environment.

     Other Skills and Abilities:


    • Basic reading and writing skills.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Manual dexterity and the ability to operate simple machinery.
    • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
