Job Summary

Performs & provides input to test procedures as required to address internal or external customer requirements, or to evaluate the various uses of the ARC and IL/MRO product offerings. Performs all standard and specialized tests that on ARC and IL/MRO product offerings. Proficient in the use of all instrumentation and test apparatus in the laboratories. Can analyze test data, and identify trends in order to make recommendations and conclusions. Conduct a wide variety of critical testing including tensile, compression/expansion, friction, thermal, corrosion, chemical capabilities, destructive & non-destructive testing, and others in support of R&D efforts, customer applications and customer complaints. Must have the ability to write technical lab reports.

Job Model:  On-Site

All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.

 

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

 

On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.

 

Responsibility

·    Provides input to project reports, equipment justifications, and proposals utilizing complex research and advanced technical skills to report results to engineering professionals, or to purchase equipment and to propose new business for the Test Laboratory.

·    Performs specialized tests, document test procedures, analyze technical data, and interpret results to internal/external customers at all levels.

·    Investigate internal & external protocols to find an appropriate procedure.

·    Work with R&D Chemists, Applications Engineers and Marketing to support testing of existing products or future products as required.

·    Support product failure analysis process

 

Complexity of Duties

·    Functions under minimal supervision.

·    Approval of final project plans by Lab Manager / Project Engineer after test project is assigned.

·    High level involvement in solving complex technical and engineering problems.

·    Moderate level of decision-making responsibilities.

·    Ability to use sound judgment and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action.

·    Ability to interpret highly technical data.

·    Ability to work in uncomfortable environment, i.e., extreme heat and humidity.

·    Ability to work in noisy environment, i.e., eighty (80) dcb sound level.

·    Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers - strong interpersonal skills.

Education and/or Experience

·    Associates degree in Engineering preferred

·    1-2 years’ experience in an industrial laboratory setting.

 

Other Skill and Abilities

·    High degree of mechanical aptitude and ability.

·    College level math, science, and writing skills.

·    Advanced understanding and knowledge of computers and data acquisition systems.

·    Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs.

·    Strong knowledge of instrumentation, electronics, and equipment design principals.

·    Well-developed interpersonal skills
