This job can be described as:

Responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience while supporting customer requests for orders, quotes, and resolutions. Is involved in every facet of our business as it relates to sales, shipping, order entry, billing, credits, as well as subdivisions of manufacturing and engineering, information technology, quality and environmental. This position requires extensive communication between distributors, customers, and end-users around the world. Has administrative responsibility for day-to-day work. The position requires great communication, interpersonal, teamwork, detail orientation and strong organizational skills.

Job Model:  Hybrid

All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.

 

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

 

On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.

 

A typical day at work would include:

  • Provides support for all types of requests (Quotes, Orders, Information and Resolution).
  • Communicates with customers and end-users to support requests.
  • Provides quotes, special pricing, logistical information, resolves credit disputes, and other information as requested by customers.
  • Acts as the voice of Chesterton to provide request related information from other departments.
  • Processes customer requests using Chesterton operating systems.
  • Reviews all work for accuracy.
  • Provides support for all types of requests (Quotes, Orders, Information and Resolution).
  • Communicates with customers and end-users to support requests.
  • Provides quotes, special pricing, logistical information, resolves credit disputes, and other information as requested by customers.
  • Works under general direction. Must be capable of working independently, and with the team.
  • Must possess the ability to continuously learn and apply new information.
  • Ability to provide solutions to a variety of problems ranging in complexity.
  • Ability to leverage resources while managing the demands of internal/external customers.
  • Involved in multiple facets of the business.
  • Must be a professional and effective communicator.
  • Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously manage multiple demands.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in territories, customer specific requirements, company policies and procedures.

 

Experience you need coming into this job:

  • College degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years related experience preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, manufacturing, and/or business environments desirable.
  • Foreign language skills desirable.
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding instructions.
  • Must be capable of following a clearly written and described sequence of events.
  • Ability to work under pressure and work well with others.
  • Basic reading and writing skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision. Supervisory instructions given for special assignments.
  • Must be able to work according to written/verbal instructions and procedures which will ensure safety on the job and efficient, effective assembly process.
  • Strong commitment and understanding of customer service.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Very accurate with all facets of your work.
  • Ability to learn, demonstrate understanding, apply knowledge into practice and adapt to changes.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and navigation of software programs.
  • Ability to quickly manage your workload.
  • Be a champion for the company brand and initiatives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results (even in tough situations).

Employees assigned to certain tasks within this job may be required to participate in our Medical Surveillance Program. Also requires: Repetitive elbow movements, rotating wrist movements, grasping and squeezing. Must be able to move, reach above the shoulders and bend freely. Must be able to adhere to any requirements of the job, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Exposure to high temperature and noise levels exists daily in the work environment.

Chesterton is committed to paying all its employees in a fair and equitable manner. The pay range associated with this position ($27/hr. - $28/hr. DOE) is Chesterton's good-faith salary estimate for the presently available position. Please note that the final salary offered for any position will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications such as education and experience, internal equity, geographical location, and budget. Please note, it is not the company's usual practice to hire near or at the top of a pay range for any position that is available.
