Job Summary:

At Chesterton, we have a laser focus on our customers. The Learning & Development Specialist develops learning solutions to provide documentation, training, and support for our on-line customers. This role develops training that is enhanced by the internet, intranet, extranet, or other electronic media, including instructor-led training, self-paced learning, online mentors, online support, video on demand, virtual classrooms, and virtual labs to ensure the maximum learning opportunity for end users.

Job Model:  Hybrid

All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.

 

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

 

On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews company learning and development programs to assess their potential for on-line delivery and advise appropriate managers on which areas of the curriculum can be redesigned/enhanced using e-learning
  • Develops instructional material, coordinates, writes and edits educational content, and incorporates current technology into learning solutions
  • Evaluates and confirms learning objectives through ongoing needs assessments
  • May be responsible for developing action plans, timetables, benchmarks, quantitative targets for the online programs and projects
  • Researches and recommends e-learning technologies, methods, and systems then implements new e-learning strategies aligned with the business’ strategic plan
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Learning Management System (LMS) software
  • Provides software support to employees in need of assistance for project activity
  • Creates, customizes and publishes self-paced interactive learning content in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Provides documentation, training, and support to Online Training users
  • Supports external and internal customers with better understanding, installing, and selling company products

  • Handles moderate issues and problems, and refers only more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter

  • Ability to develop course curriculum and associated materials
  • Occasional travel required. Valid driver’s license required.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Sufficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in implementing Learning Management Solutions
  • E-learning certification from a recognized training source preferred
