Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist provides tactical human resources support to employees and all levels of management. Responsible for supporting the organization by implementing and administering human resources programs and policies across all business situations. Provides tactical content in areas such as employee relations, compensation, recruitment and retention, and training. Responsible for implementation, measurement, and review of key HR processes and ensuring that these processes are administered consistently throughout all business groups. Primarily responsible for providing support to the HR Business Partner team.

Job Model:  Hybrid

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive completion of HR process administrative transactions with high level of efficiency, detail-orientation and follow through.
  • Ensure that HR processes and procedures are consistently communicated and administered throughout all business situations.
  • Support the organization by implementing and administering human resources programs or policies.
  • Work collaboratively with HR central functions (compensation, benefits, talent management, and talent acquisition) to address business needs.
  • Recommend appropriate employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer/employee relationship while promoting a high level of employee morale.
  • Collect and analyze internal and external information to compare the organizations HR practices to those prevailing in the market.
  • Ensure compliance to legal requirements and government regulations affecting the Human Resources function and provide appropriate information required for compliance.
  • Complete personnel transactions and maintain associated records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws or regulations.
  • Perform support functions to Human Resources department as needed i.e. record keeping, mailings, answering telephones, referring messages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Position has corporate-wide responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple time sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Makes decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Accomplishes tasks through collaboration with HR Team and management.
  • This role is part of a 4 person employee-facing team.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Requires use and application of Human Resource concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Ability to generate potential solutions to a wide array of problems and situations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years professional HR experience, or significantly-related experience required.
  • Interest in U.S. and state employment law
  • Understanding of HR best-practices and human development theory/ organizational development/ adult development theory.

Targeted pay range: $55,000 - $57,000/annually depending on experience

 

Chesterton is committed to paying all its employees in a fair and equitable manner. The pay range associated with this position ($55,000 - $57,000/annually DOE) is Chesterton's good-faith salary estimate for the presently available position. Several roles at Chesterton are considered “leveled” positions and as such, the company reserves the right to advertise and or hire for this position at appropriate level depending on applicant’s skillset/experience. If the salary range to be offered for a “leveled” based position (I, II, III, etc.) is different than what was advertised on any posting, that range will be discussed with the candidate before they are formally invited to interview.

 

Hired applicants may be eligible for additional incentive compensation depending on the level and or function of the position which will be discussed with the candidate prior to formal interview. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

 

Please note that the final salary offered for any position will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications such as education and experience, internal equity, geographical location, and budget. Please note, it is not the company's usual practice to hire near or at the top of a pay range for any position that is available.
