Job Summary:

Provide sales leadership, service and technical knowledge to wholesale distributors and/or self-worked accounts within a geographic area. Develop and implement territory sales strategies for that area. This role is responsible for meeting sales growth targets and sales forecast objectives. Coordinate and provide guidance and sales management for assigned area. Provide and direct the tactical execution of conceptual sales strategies and implementation of contractual agreements.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieves the sales and profitability forecast within a specific geographical area.
  • Develops and provides Regional Director with annual territory business plan (includes targeted industries, accounts, products and programs) along with monthly updates of the 90-day rolling forecast.
  • Drives assigned territory business strategies and new product introductions.
  • Provides sales leadership, and technical mentoring to distributor specialists.
  • Assists distributor owners, managers, and specialists in strategic and tactical account planning to ensure sales targets are achieved.
  • Conducts documented quarterly reviews of sales with distributor personnel and recommend any necessary corrective actions.
  • Assists distributor specialists in documenting customer successes, case histories, and return on investment.
  • With Global Training support, provides product, installation and application training for distributor specialists and end-users.
  • Assists and trains distributor and/or end-user personnel on product knowledge, and sales techniques, and more through calls, webinars, meetings, and other means.
  • Conducts high level, plant / corporate standardization and reliability presentations.
  • Conforms to all Chesterton Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides coaching and motivation for distributor management and employees.
  • Effectively implements and utilizes Expect More, Deliver More company program throughout the sales organization.

 

Complexity of Duties:

  • Employee works under general direction and supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, accuracy and conformance with annual business plan.
  • Represents the organization in providing solutions associated with the sale, marketing and added value of our products.
  • Performance must demonstrate superior conceptual, technical, people, and organizational skills plus a strong work ethic.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 6-8 years experience in industrial sales and/or management.
  •  BA or BS degree preferred.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and selling skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Must have or be capable of developing strong technical knowledge of Chesterton products.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at management and hourly maintenance levels.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process flow.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other basic computer functions.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Extensive land and air travel may be required.

While in the factory environment, employee may be required to bend, stoop, crouch, crawl and lift up to 30 pounds. Duties require extensive travel and flexibility. Specific vision abilities required with this job include close and distant vision, the ability to distinguish color of products and color-coded materials, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Moderate to very loud noise exists in the daily work environment.

Targeted pay range: $125,000-$135,000/annually depending on your experience

 

Chesterton is committed to paying all its employees in a fair and equitable manner. The pay range associated with this position ($125,000-$135,000/annually DOE) is Chesterton's good-faith salary estimate for the presently available position. Several roles at Chesterton are considered “leveled” positions and as such, the company reserves the right to advertise and or hire for this position at appropriate level depending on applicant’s skillset/experience. If the salary range to be offered for a “leveled” based position (I, II, III, etc.) is different than what was advertised on any posting, that range will be discussed with the candidate before they are formally invited to interview.

 

Hired applicants may be eligible for additional incentive compensation depending on the level and or function of the position which will be discussed with the candidate prior to formal interview. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

 

Please note that the final salary offered for any position will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications such as education and experience, internal equity, geographical location, and budget.
