This role must be able to identify and provide reliable quality solutions for manufacturing process deficiencies to assure an unrivaled customer experience. The Quality System & Product Quality Engineer will establish and maintain strong cross- functional relationships between Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Customer Care Team, Marketing, and Engineering to support structured problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. This role is responsible for ensuring effective execution of all activities related to the consistent delivery of quality products and services associated with their areas of responsibility. The Quality System & Product Quality Engineer is critical to protecting the integrity of the Chesterton brand by ensuring the proper resolution of customer quality complaints and effective execution of product failure analysis activities and reporting. The role is also accountable for the implementation of the Chesterton Quality System (CQS) associated with their areas of responsibility Job Model: On-Site All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.   Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.   On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.   Responsibilities: - Serve as the primary technical leader for Chesterton manufacturing operations related to the evaluation, feasibility, and implementation of manufacturing quality process improvements. - Lead all efforts related to the resolution and communication to sales and customers associated with customer complaints and/or technical inquires. - Listen, understand, and covey critical quality characteristics and other customer requirements to manufacturing personnel to ensure alignment with manufacturing Control Plans and other supporting documentation. - Implement Process Monitoring and Control systems to assess manufacturing consistency and effectively utilize this data to identify and drive quality improvements. - Develop technical workshops to ensure connectivity between manufacturing associates and customer end use product applications. - Analyze supplier performance trends and provide technical support to supply chain leaders to provide solutions related to high risk suppliers. - Maintain expert level of product knowledge and associated product manufacturing capabilities and end use applications. - Lead and support all aspects associated with the implementation of the Chesterton Quality System. - Organize cross-functional structured problem-solving teams to identify improvement priorities and implement root-cause corrective actions. - Lead and supervise the QC Inspectors and others as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.   Complexity of Duties: - Influences and manages upward. - Works with members of the organization’s Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations, Global Quality, Marketing and Sales organizations to execute strategic and tactical plans to improve overall performance. - Provides Process Monitoring and Control systems training to ensure adequate and sustainable performance. - Leads and supervises direct reports. - Review of work is done to assess if organizational, financial and operational objectives are met.   Essential Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
